John

John

John* let Bravery Trust know that the support we provided helped him immensely in his transition to civilian life and through the aftermath of the recent challenges.

John served in the Army for over 10 years. He has both physical and mental illness due to a traumatic event that happened during his service in the Army. John was medically discharged and due to his mental health was finding it tricky to gain employment. When John contacted Bravery Trust for help, he’d been selling his possessions to pay for his living expenses and sleeping in his car and caravan parks – he was effectively homeless.

Bravery Trust helped John with bond and two weeks rent. John was then able to purchase some basic household items to set himself and his young son up in the rental property he moved into. John was very grateful for our help and said that it made sure that he was not overwhelmed by living expenses as he transitioned back to civilian life.
