Don’t know how to pay all those overdue bills? Follow our steps to start to get control back.
1. The first step is to work out what exactly you owe and who to. That way you have a true, clear, picture of your current financial situation.
2. Then, prioritise debts. Essential services like utility bills, council rates and rent should be prioritised.
3. Contact the companies you owe money to and ask what payment options and hardship assistance is available and check that concessions have been applied to your account.
We have Financial Counsellors who can help you work out an ongoing budget and talk to creditors on your behalf.
Watch our short video about avoiding debts or check out our useful resources including a debt control or credit reporting factsheet and interactive map demonstrating available concessions on our FinWell page.
