A huge thank you to the Chief of Navy and all involved for the exceptional support we received launching Bravery Trek, as part of Veterans’ Health Week.
Our launch runners ran from North Head to South Head on Monday visiting HMAS Penguin HMAS Waterhen HMAS Kuttabul and HMAS Watson to raise funds and awareness of the support available to veterans injured during service. We were privileged to be joined by some current serving members of the RAN and to be led by former submariner Murray Bruce, who showcased the RAN and its culture with such pride.
It was interesting to enter each of the bases and read the Defence values but then also to see them in action – in such amazing ways. Thank you to our visiting dignitaries including Zali Steggall OAM MP, James Griffin MP, Dr Sophie Scamps MP, Andrew Bragg, Kylea Tink, Allegra Spender and especially Matt Thistlethwaite for your heartfelt speech and understanding of the issues facing veterans injured during service.
The Bravery Trust team and our corporate sponsors left the day feeling inspired by supporters willing to give so generously to show their support the work we do. We will continue to do our very best to serve our veteran community.
